Our realtor told me about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.movinglink.com\/\">Moving Link<\/a> &#8211; it&#8217;s a service that takes care of bidding on the move. They come out and walk through the house, and then go work with movers to get quotes. Super easy, and a great service to have when there&#8217;s so much other crap going on<\/li><li>A big part of leadership is good decision making. Like anything else, the way to get better at decision making is to practice by making lots of decisions &#8211; then reflect on the bad decisions as an exercise for getting better. Along those lines, this article on <a href=\"https:\/\/hbr.org\/2019\/08\/6-reasons-we-make-bad-decisions-and-what-to-do-about-them\">6 Reasons We Make Bad Decisions, and What to Do About Them is worth reading<\/a><\/li><li>We&#8217;ve all seen and used career models or ladders that differentiate between manager and IC (individual contributor) paths. One of the few flaws with this two<g class=\"gr_ gr_12 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace\" id=\"12\" data-gr-id=\"12\">&#8211;<\/g>path approach is that we frequently expect <g class=\"gr_ gr_585 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_disable_anim_appear ContextualSpelling multiReplace\" id=\"585\" data-gr-id=\"585\">high level<\/g> non-managers to be tech leaders, even if that role doesn&#8217;t quite fit. I&#8217;m surprised I hadn&#8217;t heard of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thekua.com\/atwork\/2019\/02\/the-trident-model-of-career-development\/\">Trident Model of Career Growth<\/a> before, but I will refer to it often now.<\/li><li>One of my favorite plugins is the <a href=\"https:\/\/jasonsavard.com\/wiki\/Checker_Plus_for_Gmail\">Checker Plus plugin<\/a>. I don&#8217;t get a lot of <g class=\"gr_ gr_429 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_disable_anim_appear Grammar multiReplace\" id=\"429\" data-gr-id=\"429\">email<\/g>, and what I get is 80% shit I don&#8217;t care about. With checker plus, I can quickly glance at the new messages across my inboxes and see if anything needs attention (my loan guy at the bank, for example, needs me to reply to something when I&#8217;m done here).<\/li><li>Lastly, you can now play the <a href=\"https:\/\/diablo.rivsoft.net\/\">original Diablo <\/a>in your browser<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here is my this week&#8217;s version of five things I think are worth sharing.
