{"id":1748,"date":"2020-06-26T14:23:39","date_gmt":"2020-06-26T21:23:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/angryweasel.com\/blog\/?p=1748"},"modified":"2020-06-26T14:23:43","modified_gmt":"2020-06-26T21:23:43","slug":"five-for-friday-june-26-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/angryweasel.com\/blog\/five-for-friday-june-26-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Five for Friday &#8211; June 26, 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I like to think that this FfF series (which has lasted a long time now), is an eclectic slice of the internet &#8211; but it was cool last week when one of my links was posted by someone who actually reads this thing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pretty cool &#8211; let&#8217;s see if I can do it again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>I <em>finally<\/em> read the latest Patrick Lencioni book, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tablegroup.com\/books\/themotive\/\">Motive<\/a> &#8211; which sums up a lot of the ideas in some of his previous books. It&#8217;s on the short side, but worth the effort, as the points it makes are relevant and fantastic.<\/li><li>In Corona news, looks like the results of stupidity in my home country are coming to fruition &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/time.com\/5859796\/coronavirus-us-worst-day\">The U.S. Has Officially Unflattened the Curve With Its Worst Day of the Coronavirus Pandemic Yet<\/a><\/li><li>I have a software patent or two. I don&#8217;t remember exactly what they&#8217;re for, but I&#8217;m pretty sure it&#8217;s not that unique of an idea. My experience with the patent process was that they don&#8217;t look really hard, and although I&#8217;m pretty much positive my patent has been &#8220;infringed&#8221; &#8211; I don&#8217;t care. Here&#8217;s another take &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fsf.org\/blogs\/licensing\/software-patents-are-another-kind-of-disease\">Software patents are another kind of disease<\/a><\/li><li>I&#8217;m not sure how to pull this off myself, but this article on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.getclockwise.com\/blog\/how-to-successfully-implement-a-no-meeting-day-at-your-company\">Implementing a No Meeting Day<\/a> really gave me a lot to think about.<\/li><li>For no reason in particular, I began learning <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rust-lang.org\/\">Rust<\/a> last weekend.
