{"id":1812,"date":"2020-12-04T14:20:42","date_gmt":"2020-12-04T22:20:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/angryweasel.com\/blog\/?p=1812"},"modified":"2020-12-04T14:20:46","modified_gmt":"2020-12-04T22:20:46","slug":"five-for-friday-december-4-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/angryweasel.com\/blog\/five-for-friday-december-4-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Five for Friday &#8211; December 4, 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The year keeps puttering along &#8211; here are a few things I found interesting this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>I&#8217;ve been spending a lot of time recently learning about &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.finops.org\/\">FinOps<\/a>&#8221; &#8211; the website has <em>some<\/em> information, but I&#8217;m finding a lot of interesting info as I scour the net (book reco coming next week. If you happen to be in this field, would love to talk.<\/li><li>I&#8217;m&#8230;not good with photo editing (but working on it). One easy thing that&#8217;s helped is<a href=\"https:\/\/www.remove.bg\/\"> remove.bg<\/a> for automatic removal of image backgrounds. I wish I knew about it sooner.<\/li><li>I&#8217;ve been binging a bit on the <a href=\"https:\/\/chaos.community\/\">Chaos Community<\/a> video series.  The episodes are quirky and informative.<\/li><li>I&#8217;m working on creating more opportunities for self-organizing teams within my org, and this article on <a href=\"https:\/\/theoverlap.substack.com\/p\/orgchart\">reimagining the org chart<\/a> gave me a lot to think about.<\/li><li>My leadership philosophy shifted the first time I read Lencioni when I realized that as a manager, my <em>first<\/em> team is my peer org. This article on <a href=\"https:\/\/boxkitemachine.net\/posts\/first-team-mindset\/\">first team<\/a> has a great view on that concept.<br \/><\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The year keeps puttering along &#8211; here are a few things I found interesting this week.
