Due to some other appointments, I am writing this <em>from a Unity Office. <\/em>It&#8217;s been just under two years since I&#8217;ve worked from an office, and&#8230;I&#8217;m just not sure what to make of it. Anyway &#8211; here&#8217;s some stuff to read while I ponder this strange setting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Cool article from the backstage team on <a href=\"https:\/\/backstage.spotify.com\/blog\/measuring-backstage-success-at-spotify\/\">measuring productivity<\/a> (my fave &#8211; days to 10th PR)<\/li><li>While I&#8217;m plugging vendors, github also have a nice article (presentation?) this week on <a href=\"https:\/\/octoverse.github.com\/writing-code-faster\/\">Writing and Shipping Code Faster<\/a><\/li><li>This article captures (at a <strong>extremely<\/strong> high level), <a href=\"https:\/\/increment.com\/planning\/what-planning-is-like-at-netflix-mailchimp-and-more\/\">planning processes at some major companies<\/a>. Not enough here to take any action, but I still found it interesting.<\/li><li>Happy to see that a lot of companies (including Unity!) are embracing a hybrid model allowing flexibility in returning to work&#8230;someday. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2021\/11\/18\/22789631\/apple-employees-return-offices-february-1st-hybrid-work-pilot\">The Apple hybrid model<\/a> has had a lot of press this week, but I&#8217;m not really impressed (4 weeks of wfh\/remote, but still required days in the office) &#8211; I think it&#8217;s too much.<\/li><li>In my opinion, there haven&#8217;t been nearly enough convictions in the aftermath of January 6 (especially at the politician level), but at least <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Politics\/qanon-shaman-key-figure-jan-attack-sentenced-wednesday\/story?id=81203981\">one of the terrorists has has plead guilty and sentenced<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well this is weird.
