It&#8217;s sort of weird, but I usually like things that are sort of weird.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Johanna Rothman wrote an insightful article on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jrothman.com\/mpd\/2024\/07\/how-we-plan-for-ourselves-vs-how-we-commit-for-our-organizations\/\">How We Plan for Ourselves vs. How We Commit for Our Organizations<\/a>&#8230;and I know some folks I want to read it too.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I found this collection of famous &#8220;flight bugs&#8221; and their root causes. I think a lot of us are aware of these, but it&#8217;s a nice recap in one place &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/newsletter.techworld-with-milan.com\/p\/how-a-single-line-of-code-brought\">How a Single Line of Code Brought Down a Billion Dollar Rocket<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nice encouragement to create <a href=\"https:\/\/testing.googleblog.com\/2024\/07\/in-praise-of-small-pull-requests.html\">Small Pull Requests<\/a> from the google testing blog.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Olympics are coming up, and we all get a chance to watch sports we would never watch otherwise. High on my list this year is synchronized diving &#8211; because I saw a video of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usadiving.org\/news\/2024\/june\/17\/cook-and-bacon-qualify-for-us-olympic-team-in-synchronized-3-meter\">Cook and Bacon<\/a> (check out <a href=\"https:\/\/www.themplsegotist.com\/news\/2024\/07\/16\/cooknbacon-olympic-divers-tied-to-minnesota-partner-with-black-label-bacon\/\">#cooknbacon<\/a>) recently in a frame by frame that looked like a mirror. <br \/>And also soccer &#8211; I will watch lots of soccer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Another week done &#8211; have a great weekend.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This has been a wild week in this timeline &#8211; but beyond the US political drama, a few other interesting things caught my interest.
