I gave the talk today (which had a remarkably large turnout), and think it\u2019s a talk I\u2019ll deliver again (with some tweaks).<\/p>\n<p>Without going into details, here are the tips:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>do the right thing<\/li>\n<li>try different<\/li>\n<li>speak up<\/li>\n<li>learn your A-C-B\u2019s<\/li>\n<li>know that you don\u2019t<\/li>\n<li>know who you don\u2019t<\/li>\n<li>follow the leader &#8211; lead the follower<\/li>\n<li>don\u2018t flip the bozo bit<\/li>\n<li>\u2026and don\u2019t burn bridges either<\/li>\n<li>find a mentor<\/li>\n<li>ride the gravy train<\/li>\n<li>find the steepest learning curve<\/li>\n<li>the three p\u2019s<\/li>\n<li>be happy<\/li>\n<li>a career is a journey, not a sprint<\/li>\n<li>there\u2019s nothing wrong with self-promotion<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As&#160; you can tell, there\u2019s nothing Microsoft specific here (and probably nothing controversial either). As usual, of course, I use few words on my slides (this is the sum of all of the text), and the words I use are too obscure for most people to provide context.<\/p>\n<p>Given that it\u2019s my product now, I\u2019m considering doing a live meeting version of this talk (and if that goes well, others). I thought about doing something like this before, but as soon as I suggested it, I got very, very busy. I\u2019m still busy, but at least I can say I\u2019m testing (and I promise to anyone who wants to listen to the talk that I will take every bit of feedback you give me on your experience with the product and get it to the proper people). Not sure when yet, but probably in&#160; a few weeks.
